Appointment of Kolosova will increase acceleration of innovation in AI and Data Science
DemandTec by Acoustic, a pioneer in retail price, promotion, and markdown optimization technology, today announced the appointment of Tanya Kolosova as its new Chief Science Officer. With a demonstrated record of accomplishment of success in both industry and academia, Kolosova brings to DemandTec holistic expertise in designing and delivering AI-powered predictive and prescriptive analytical solutions. She will report directly to DemandTec CEO Todd P. Michaud and will be responsible for leading DemandTec’s data science organization as well as its data science roadmap.

Kolosova comes to DemandTec from Associates in Analytics, where she served as Principal and was responsible for spearheading research and development services for corporate clients and developing large-scale probabilistic demand forecasting systems. She also had direct experience with pricing, promotions, and inventory clearance optimization, as well as other adjacent innovations that influence customer purchasing behaviors.
Prior to joining Associates in Analytics, Kolosova was SVP, Director of Research and Analytics at Investment Technology Group and SVP of Research and Analytics at Interpublic Group (IPG). She has held executive-level analytics and research roles at Nielsen Online, Yahoo!, YieldWise Canada, and WatchWise, which she also co-founded. She has several years of experience in academia, having held teaching and research roles at Tel Aviv University and Simon Fraser University.
