Our fifth annual customer conference
DemandBetter 2007, DemandTec's fifth annual customer conference in San Francisco, CA, drew executives from retail and consumer products companies around the world who shared strategies and best practices in consumer-centricity.

The conference featured in-depth product, science and customer case study sessions-all designed to help DemandTec partners and retail and manufacturer customers deliver superior merchandising, sales and marketing results based on an actionable understanding of consumers themselves, consumer demand and their competitive marketplace.

The keynote address was given by Darrell Rigby, Director in the Boston office of Bain & Company and head of the firm's Global Retail Practice on Tuesday, April 24. Darrell's presentation, Localization and the Revolution in Consumer Markets, discussed localization as a way to improve innovation. He concluded; "localization encourages innovation by building a deeper understanding of local consumers. It starts with consumers."

DemandTec customers Best Buy and Office Depot both shared how they are strategically focusing on key consumer segments with targeted merchandising, how they are driving sales and profits and how they are creating long-term customer value.

In afternoon breakout sessions, customers, partners and advisors shared best practices and break-through thinking on merchandising and marketing, high-impact promotions, DemandTec science and other topics around understanding and meeting the needs of consumers.
