I am happy to announce that DemandTec has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Applied Intelligence Solutions, LLC (AIS), a developer of intelligent software solutions for the retail enterprise with a specific focus on softlines retailers.

Many DemandTec customers have asked us to support short lifecycle products with the same analytics and optimization functionality our customers enjoy for fast-moving consumer goods. With the acquisition of AIS and the immediate availability of their proven markdown optimization solution, we can now do exactly that.

The broadly defined Softlines market is an exciting growth opportunity for DemandTec. With the experience and skills of AIS, we expect to rapidly expand our offering to support merchandise planning with additional software services and analyses. This is an exciting new growth opportunity for us and we look forward to working with our existing customers as well as new members of the DemandTec ecosystem to prioritize and shape our development efforts.
