DemandTec Recognized for Community Involvement with Award from Entrepreneurs Foundation
SAN CARLOS, Calif. – September 24, 2008 – DemandTec, Inc. (NASDAQ: DMAN), a leading provider of on-demand optimization solutions for retailers and consumer products manufacturers, today received the Rookie of the Year community involvement award from Entrepreneurs Foundation (EF) at the group’s 9th Annual Powered by EF Reception. The award was presented to Bill Phelps, DemandTec’s executive vice-president and chief customer officer, at Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club in Menlo Park, Calif.
Entrepreneurs Foundation awards are given annually to firms and companies within the network that best represent the mission of the Entrepreneurs Foundation: to engage high growth companies in corporate citizenship and philanthropic efforts so that new and leveraged resources are generated for community benefit. The Rookie of the Year award is presented to a company who joined EF within the previous eighteen months and whose program has evolved to include corporate giving, employee giving, volunteerism, strategic plan design, active teams and leadership engagement.
“We are honored to be recognized by Entrepreneurs Foundation,” said Phelps. “DemandTec has a history of individual involvement and philanthropic achievement, and EF has enabled us to develop a comprehensive Corporate Citizenship program aimed at supporting our collective individual causes as well as broadening our impact on the communities we serve. EF was also invaluable in helping us establish The DemandTec Foundation, which we feel will provide sustainability to our programs for years to come.”
“DemandTec's Corporate Citizenship program is both grassroots and strategic. The program began with a desire of employees to give back and developed into a signature program with the aim of encouraging and rewarding high school students to appreciate math. It has now evolved into a strategic effort that aligns corporate goals with community needs. Entrepreneurs Foundation has the honor of working with DemandTec to help the company continually increase its impact in our communities,” commented Diane Solinger, EF’s executive director.
