Lead Development Software Engineer

DemandTec is searching for a dynamic Software Engineer to join our top-notch development team. If you are that person, you'll help us continue to improve and innovate our Software as a Service (SAAS) applications.

The Lead Development Software Engineer owns and implements items at the feature level.  S/he works closely with architects, Product Management, and other engineers to design and implement new features and new core capabilities in DemandTec’s application suite.

Required Skill Set:

• 3-7 years designing, building, and maintaining functionality for enterprise-quality web applications (Must be able to demonstrate significant contributions to past projects)
• Expert Java coding and debugging skills
• Proficiency with Web technologies, such as Struts, JSP, JavaScript and Ajax
• Good programming practices with solid object-oriented development experience
• Experience with handling large data volumes in a Java server environment – both backend processing and web tier data management
• Proficiency in SQL
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills (Must be able to analyze and suggest improvements to existing code and designs)
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating environments
• Familiarity with automated build and test tools and methods

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree and or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Desired Skill Set:

• Web UI development experience
• Experience with web services implementation and standards
• Experience with web application frameworks, such as Spring
• Experience with performance and scalability testing methods
• Proficiency with scripting languages, such as Ruby and Python
